How do I play?
Tap rocks to smash them. Boulders crack into chunks, chunks into pebbles, pebbles into dust. If the pile sits above the red line for two seconds, you're buried. Tap dynamite to clear the pile; tap bombs before their fuse burns out. That's the whole manual.
There's no sound!
Browsers and iOS require a tap before audio can start, so sound begins after your first touch. Also check the speaker icon in the top-right corner of the game — it toggles mute — and make sure your phone's silent switch is off.
How do the guns work?
The Hand Cannon fires once per tap. The Boomstick hits everything in a spread, then needs a moment to pump — watch the reload arc around the crosshair. The Tactical sprays full-auto while you hold your finger down. All of them can detonate dynamite and defuse bombs from anywhere on screen.
Why did a bomb appear?
A bomb drops every 100 rocks you smash — check the rock counter in the top corner to see the next one coming. Defuse it for bonus points; let it blow and it floods the screen with rubble.
My best score disappeared.
Scores save on your device. Clearing your browser data (or deleting and reinstalling the app) erases them, and private/incognito browsing doesn't save at all. Nothing is stored online, so we can't restore a lost score — sorry, champ. Time to reclaim it.
The game feels slow or choppy.
Close other heavy tabs or apps, and make sure Low Power Mode is off — iOS caps animation speed when it's on. The game is tiny and runs well on nearly anything, so persistent stutter usually means the device is busy elsewhere.
Does Smithereens show ads or have purchases?
No ads, no purchases, no accounts. It's just a game.
PRIVACY POLICY
Smithereens collects no data. None.
The game does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information or usage data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no tracking of any kind, and no third-party services receiving anything about you.
Your best score, smash record, and weapon/scene preferences are saved only on your own device using local storage, never leave it, and are deleted if you clear your browser data or uninstall the app.
Because no data is collected from anyone, the game is compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and COPPA by the simplest possible means: there is nothing to disclose, request, or delete.
